

Nova Scotia’s Wildfire Response
Fires are still raging across Canada. A large area of Upper Tantallon was the first area in Nova Scotia to burn on Sunday May 28th, followed swiftly by the ongoing fire in Shelburne. At one point there were 10 fires raging across Nova Scotia in the past few weeks, with hundreds more across the country.

After the public announcement made by Dr. Robert Strang on May 23 2023 that brought an end to the Health Protection Act Orders enacted in Nova Scotia, some organizations are changing their positioning around masking.


National Citizens Inquiry – Day 03 Truro, NS
The conclusion to the Atlantic portion of the National Citizens Inquiry occurred on March 18th 2023, held at the Best Western Glengarry in Truro, Nova Scotia. Though the gallery started at around 50% capacity in the morning, it was abuzz with excitement, and reached almost 100% capacity by the end of the day. Online stats for the day indicated more than 9000 views across social media platforms, while the total impressions for the event on Twitter exceeded 1.1 million: the event’s Twitter page received a 7% percent engagement rate, which is far higher than the average Twitter engagement rate of 0.05%.


National Citizens Inquiry – Day 02 Truro, NS
March 17th 2023 marked the second day of the inaugural hearings of the National Citizens Inquiry in Truro, Nova Scotia. The gallery at the Best Western Glengarry was not quite so full as the day before, though attendance increased as the day wore on. Social media engagement for the event hovered around 8000 views.

The National Citizen’s Inquiry kicked off on March 16 2023, with the Atlantic portion of the Inquiry being held in Truro, Nova Scotia. The gallery room at the Best Western Glengarry was full all day, with people coming in from all across the Atlantic provinces, and with roughly 11,000 virtual attendees tuning in over the course of the day through various social media and video streaming platforms.

August 20th 2022 marked 75 years since the codification of the Nuremberg Code in 1947, an invaluable and internationally recognised document outlining the core tenets of medical ethics. To commemorate the event, Action Alliance, a German activist group, organised a line-up of speakers from across the world to discuss the importance of the Code.
