Bill 419

Interestingly PHIA already has provisions – 31(l) and 38(1)(g) – which allow for the Minister to collect personal health information for the purpose of planning and management of the health system. It also already contains provisions for the Minister to collect that information for the purposes of creating or maintaining an electronic health record at 31(o). The difference now, however, seems to be that custodians will no longer be able to refuse to disclose your personal health information to the government.

How have I been? Well…
I suppose it starts with the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa. It was an emotional few weeks, and it culminated in a violent quelling of a peaceful protest, which was perfectly in line with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms Section 2(c) (the fundamental freedom of peaceful assembly). It was legal to participate in, and fund, such a gathering until the government decided to pass orders and measures which made it illegal.

  1. David Ross and Ches Crosbie are men of integrity. What they’ve accomplished, with the help of many other volunteers and hundreds of witnesses, was truly amazing.

They have demonstrated such restraint and held themselves to a higher standard over these past several weeks. Rather than airing any grievances publicly, they have risen above the attacks. And for what? Because they are sticking with the original plan…moving on to promoting the commissioners report and holding those responsible for this accountable.

What has happened over the past few years can NEVER happen again. I thought Nuremberg guaranteed this wouldn’t happen. But here we are.

    1. How dare you compare the commissioner’s report to the Nuremberg trials. How dare you! Engage the grey matter in your skull before you engage your mouth. This statement is so inappropriate and reeks of anti-semitism, bigotry, and racism. I take it by making such statements that you are one of those people who have always had a problem with authority, rules, structure, etc. And if one did inquire into your background, one might see that you didn’t like your teachers, your parents, your bosses, etc and ALWAYS have played the victim.

Simply another whining, entitled person who does nothing but complain, add to the issues in a negative manner and feel that they have been deprived throughout their lives. Find a good therapist and move to the U.S.

BUT your comparison to the Nuremberg trials for the murder of 6 million Jews during the Second World War is simply disgusting. YOU are what is wrong with this country. Run for public office if you want to make changes or simply shut your mouth. Shameful, shameful statements. This will be forwarded to B’nai B’rith.

      1. Hi Paul! I’m sorry you are so upset. I would suggest that you look past the emotion to the similarities of what we all endured during the pandemic-years: demonization, segregation, discrimination and hatred. As someone who sounds sympathetic to the harsh realities of what the Jewish people had to endure under Nazi policies, you must surely recognize the importance of public hearings of wrong-doings against identifiable groups of people.
